What if?

"John announced: "Someone is coming soon who is greater than I am....."  Mark 1:6a NLT

A new year, even a new decade, has started.  There is a lot happening around us - some new things but a lot of the "old" is also happening.  What about the resolutions  started either with the liturgical new year (in December) or the calendar new year (12 days ago)?  Are they still happening?  New things to try and maybe even actually do. 

Mark is the shortest of the four Gospels.  It starts with John telling people "Someone is coming," calling for change and baptizing people into new lives.  Jesus is also baptized, blessed by God (Mark 1:11) and starts into His 'new' life - His earthly ministry.  Mark's emphasis is on Jesus' life after His baptism and through out His ministry.  Mark starts with God speaking, through John, for people to "change/repent" and with God's blessing of Jesus "This is my son.' 

What if we were to do the same thing?  What if we were to make the changes God is asking us to make?  What if we were to actually DO what God is calling us to do?  What if.........?
