On Christ Uniting in Strength |
Hello, my name is Pastor Barb McKewinI understand about being a primary care giver because I was the pastor of 3 small, rural, churches and I was the primary care giver for our father for 12 years. For several years, while I was taking care of my father, I was the pastor of 4 small rural churches. I do understand about busy schedules but I also know the need for self care.
A primary care giver is anyone giving of themselves for the care of others -- a single parent, a nurse (especially those in nursing homes and Hospice), the senior pastor of a church or those caring for loved ones. The loved one may still be living in their own home, a facility - either for rehab or long term, or living in the same residence as the care giver. However you define "care giver" if you are constantly "giving care out" you need to make sure to take care of self. Yes, physical and mental health but especially Spiritual health. We need to keep our relationship, with God through Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit, strong. Our prayer is this site will help you to do this. |
