"And the salves of the householder came and said to him, 'Master, did you not sow good seed in your field? Where, then, did these weeds come from?'" (Matthew 13:27)
We are to summer, the flowers are blooming, the corn is nice and high and the fields are green. So why are we thinking of 'planting'? As Caregivers, with everything needing to get done, it is hard to imagine time in the schedule to be able to "plant" anything -- even an idea. Ideas are what I'm thinking of right now, however, so for just a minute........ We know how busy we are, as Caregivers, and how fast things change. We have already planted, worked on and, in some cases, harvested the time invested into our care receivers. We have even heard the idea of the need to take care of ourselves - the seed, maybe even of something new but we realize the truth of (the importance of) self care. We might even have liked the idea (seed) and worked with the idea. But then something happens (weeds?) -- changes, busy schedules, timing - and the "new" idea (seed) has difficulties (weeds?). So....... what are we to do? Where is God leading? Which idea - seed or weeds - is God asking us to follow? How do we take the idea (seed) and grow it into a strong relationship with God through God's son Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit?
