Music Monday is special, today, because of several favorite hymns yesterday. The hymn "Fairest Lord Jesus" is the one with the most memories. The third verse especially: "Fair is the sunshine, fairer still the moonlight, and all the twinkling starry host. Jesus shines brighter, Jesus shines purer than all the angels heaven can boast."

Sunday, Sabbath celebrating God's loving presence with us. A time of prayer, praise, Scripture and, hopefully, fellowship - a time to share when we have felt God guidance and strength. Words of encouragement: "Worship the Lord in all his holy splendor. Let all the earth tremble before him." (Psalm 96:9 NLT)
Strengthening our relationship with God means taking time to BE with God - prayer, Scripture, meditation and (sometimes) praise music. When possible morning AND evening - time with God. Words of encouragement: "I will steady him with my hand; with my powerful arm I will make him strong." (Psalm 89:21 NLT)
Sometimes we actually have "free time" on the schedule. We are able to s-t-o-p and listen for what God is saying to each of us. A time to enjoy and celebrate. Words of encouragement: "Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls." (Matthew 11:29 NLT)
Trusting God through changes and challenges is how we grow in strength. Stronger is also how we can encourage each other. Words of encouragement: "Those who knows your name trust in you, for you, O Lord do not abandon those who search for you." (Psalm 9:10 NLT)
Wonders, God's wonders, all around us including some history wonders. Things to think about, talk about, and encourage each other with. Including the history, in this case a bridge built in the 1800s but still in use, to see the time line. Old bridge with a new tug boat going underneath. Word's of encouragement: "You are the God of great wonders! You demonstrate your awesome power among the nations." (Psalm 77:14 NLT)
Talking about, and sharing, how we feel God's presence, strength and guidance is how we encourage each other. This is especially true when going through changes and challenges. Sometimes it is as easy as a small step. Words of encouragement: "But now, O Jacob, listen to the Lord who created you. O Israel, the one who formed you says, "Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine." (Isaiah 43:1 NLT)
Monday music is the memory of the praise song that led worship yesterday morning. "Don't Stop Praying" opened worship reminding all of us to take time to s-t-o-p and pray. The first verse is:
"What's your impossible? Your "I need a miracle" What's got you barely hanging by a single thread? What looks so hopeless now? What weighs down your heart with doubt? You beg for a breakthrough, but no sign of breakthrough yet "Sunday, Sabbath, worship celebrating God's loving presence giving guidance and strength. We celebrate with Scripture, praise, prayer and (maybe) fellowship. We can be in worship physically, online or having "extra" God time. However we do it we are celebrating Emmanuel - God IS with us. Words of encouragement: "Worship the Lord with gladness. Come before him, singing with joy." (Psalm 100:2 NLT)
Sharing strength with others is one of the ways we can share the gifts God has given us. Sometimes it is as easy as sharing an encouraging word and a smile. Sometimes it is sharing the "how to" for the specific gifts God has given us. Showing someone "how to" make something fix something, or just sit quietly. Words of encouragement: "And I am praying that you will put into action the generosity that comes from your faith as you understand and experience all the good things we have in Christ." (Philemon 1:6 NLT)
